In this session, we discussed your incredible achievement of losing 10.5 pounds in one week and how you’re managing the mix of emotions surrounding this success. You expressed concerns about sharing your progress due to fears of judgment and making others feel inadequate, especially friends who are struggling with their own weight loss journeys.

We also addressed your worries about potential judgment from others, including your sister and your husband, and how their perceptions might affect their self-esteem. It was discussed that while it’s considerate to be mindful of others’ feelings, ultimately, you are not responsible for their personal journeys.

You shared your hesitation about becoming a resource for weight loss advice, as you’re still learning and figuring things out yourself. We talked about the importance of navigating these feelings and finding a balance between sharing your journey and protecting your mental space.

To help you work through these feelings and fears of judgment, I recommended two books that focus on shadow work and personal development: “The Shadow Workbook” and “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron. These resources are intended to assist you in managing internal dialogues and fostering personal growth through structured activities and self-reflection.

Homework: Please read the recommended books and continue to reflect on your feelings about sharing your weight loss journey. Consider what boundaries you need to establish for sharing personal achievements and how you can do so in a way that feels comfortable and authentic to you.

Keep focusing on your personal goals and remember that you control your narrative and the pace at which you choose to share it with others. Continue to celebrate your successes in ways that feel right to you.
